A dance piece about life, grief and the heart

Hjärtat (the Heart) is a dance performance based on the book "det här är Hjärtat 2015" by Swedish poet Bodil Malmsten.

The piece was created in close collaboration with dancers Emelie Wahlman and Elin Hedin at residencies in Laxå and Visby during the summer of 2019. Premiere 2020.

A celebration of one of Swedens sharpest and most loved poets, the piece is a free interpretation of the work wanting to create a space for reflection and shared recognition around one of the most challenging phases of life - the griev of a lost life partner. With charm and tenderness the dancers untangle strong feelings and big questions, bringing our most private emotions into the shared and universal sphere.

The interactive and intimate format makes the piece equally suited for the bookcircle as the theatre space.
